The Trust EYFS Conference was held on Tuesday 3rd September at Princes Park, Dartford. The focus for this year was writing and we welcomed Dr Sue Allingham as our speaker. Starting with the importance of child development we explored what is involved in writing including the physical aspects. The EYFS teams discussed the importance of mark making and then looked at what is needed for the Early Learning Goal (what it means and what it looks like). The day included research based evidence that supports the child. We discussed the wider, less thought of influences, including environments and responses. The day was packed with information and gave all staff, whatever their experience, something to reflect on for the coming year.
