Golden Gala 2026

It may have been raining outside, but this year’s Golden Gala began, with the opportunity for the children to watch the GB Diving Team train firsthand. This set the tone for the day – which would be filled with fun and competitive spirit.

The event opened with the KS1 races, with the standout highlight being the much‑loved Magic Carpet Race. Teams worked together to propel themselves across the water. The events also involved a treasure hunt, and obstacle course and the jelly-bean race. At the halfway mark, Riverview took the lead, closely trailed by Oakfield, Wrotham Road, and Culverstone.

We then moved into the KS2 programme, featuring the three classic swimming disciplines: breaststroke, backstroke, and freestyle. After several tight finishes and fantastic swims from all competitors, the overall results were revealed.

For the third year in a row, and keeping the trophy once again, West Hill claimed the top spot! Oakfield secured a strong second place, with Riverview and Meopham sharing third.

It was a fantastic event from start to finish, with every school having one of their children stand atop the podium in first place. The children were incredible – supportive, spirited, and enthusiastic throughout.

A huge thank you goes out to all the school staff, the Allstar team, and the parents who attended and helped make the Golden Gala such a success.

We look forward to seeing you all again in January 2027!
